Peacock Plant Care Guide - All You Need to Know!

Peacock Plant

If you're looking for a unique and beautiful houseplant, the Peacock Plant is a great choice. It can be an eye-catching addition to any home due to its distinctive foliage and bright colors. However, as with any houseplant, proper care is essential. If you're thinking about getting a Peacock Plant, keep reading for some care instructions.

Light Requirements

Peacock plants require bright indirect light but do not require direct sunlight. They should never be in direct sunlight because the leaves will turn yellow. If possible, place your plant near a window that receives plenty of morning or afternoon sun, but not both, as this may cause the leaves to burn. Rotate your plant every other month to ensure that all sides receive equal amounts of light and air circulation.

Watering Needs

Peacock plants require regular watering during the growing season, as well as an occasional misting during the winter months when the air is less humid. During the summer, water your plant once a week, making sure not to let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Water less frequently in the winter, about once every two weeks or so, depending on how dry your home is. Always check the soil before watering; if it's still wet from the last time you watered, wait until it dries out before adding more water.

Fertilizer Needs

To keep your Peacock Plant healthy and happy during the spring and summer months, apply a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength every two weeks or so. Fertilize once a month or less during the autumn and winter months, as plants tend to slow down during these seasons. Before applying fertilizer, always read the label because each type has different application instructions.

Taking care of a Peacock Plant is not difficult, but it does require regular attention in order for it to thrive in your home environment! These plants can add an exotic touch of color to any room with bright indirect light, regular watering (but not too much), and occasional fertilizing during the growing season! And if you follow these simple steps, you'll discover that caring for these lovely houseplants is a breeze! They also make great gifts for any occasion! So why not give one a shot? You won't be sorry!
